Day 14 ~ WALLPAPER-A-DAY "Sea Urchin"

Sea Urchin (NA6340)

A dear friend who spends her summers in Rumford, ME and her winters on North Haven Island, ME suggested I do something with sea urchin. I had not considered the idea and a few days later I received a box of urchin she found on her beach.

Lena wants me to remodel our guest bath and install the “layered” version on the walls, she will then glaze the floor & I suggested aluminum leaf fish, swimming in the blue green glazed floor. If we ever get around to it, I will post photos of the result.

Day 12 ~ WALLPAPER-A-DAY "Moroccan Lucy"

Moroccan Lucy

When Lucy Beauchemin of Beauchemin Grassi Interiors asked us to create a Moroccan design for a ceiling on Commonwealth Ave. in Boston, I was unsure if I could do it. Here is the result of many hours of design work and hand painting.

Day 10 ~ WALLPAPER-A-DAY "Fall Leaves"

Fall Leaves

One fall day, raking at our cottage in Maine, I noticed a beautiful worm eaten leaf on the ground. Then I saw them everywhere. That lead to a day spent collecting leaves and pressing them.

This wallpaper comes in a layered, forest like pattern with a 41"x24" repeat or in random patterns with a 24"x24" repeat.

Day 9 ~ WALLPAPER-A-DAY "Chinoiserie Panel (La Quinta)"

Chinoiserie Panel (La Quinta)

In 2009 Lena and Brooke painted this chinoiserie panel in the California Desert. We installed a giclée print of this artwork in Glen Magna Farms, as part of the Danvers Historical Society’s “Designer Show House”. We are currently creating a 60” x 70” roller shade with the image for a home in Wenham, MA.

The roller shade required a vertical format and since the home owner had her heart set on this image, I had to "re-work" the image.

Day 8 ~ WALLPAPER-A-DAY "Shagreen"

Shagreen

Since the 17th Century, the term "shagreen" has referred to leather made from sharkskin or the skin of a rayfish. This is why shagreen is used on small boxes and as an embellishment. Our shagreen is available in a herringbone pattern or a seamless sheet with up to a 26.5" repeat and in virtually any tone.
